Critical & Analytical Reading (A)

For those who love reading stories and being critics, I would say this course is served for you! There are roughly 10 stories in each semester (excluding Midterm, Final and Quizzes). For Midterm, you will need to identify themes (story lessons), dictions and tones of each story. Plot, characterizations and settings will be added for Final part. In short, you need to read stories and criticize them in whole semester!

For me, I might not be born to be a critic; that's why I find it's boring. (Personally, I hate reading novels) However, it's good that there's nothing much to read (few theories). Since 'you are a critic' in this course, everything you write is 'your own point of view'. So, let's say there's no right or wrong in this class (unless you misunderstand the stories lol).

I took the course with A. Uraiphan in semester 2/2018. As I have mentioned in my previous reviews, she is always kind. All students are welcome to let her read their essay writings and ask questions. Also, any new opinions and comments are more than welcome. She is a very open lecturer which is why I really love her. Nonetheless, her teaching style is somewhat fast..you might feel it's hard to catch when you're sleepy haha.

สำหรับใครที่ชอบอ่านเรื่องต่างๆและชอบการเป็นนักวิจารณ์บอกเลยว่าวิชานี้เพื่อคุณจริงๆ ทั้งเทอมก็จะต้องอ่านราวๆ 10 เรื่อง (ไม่รวมมิดเทอม ไฟนอล และควิซ) ในครึ่งมิดเทอมเนี่ยก็มีการวิเคราะห์หาธีม (ข้อคิดที่ได้จากเรื่อง) ลูกเล่นทางภาษา และอารมณ์ที่สัมผัสได้จากเรื่องนั้นๆ แต่ในไฟนอลจะต้องมีการวิเคราะห์โครงเรื่อง ตัวละคร และสภาพแวดล้อมต่างๆด้วย สรุปง่ายๆคือต้องอ่านเรื่องแล้ววิเคราะห์/วิจารณ์มันทั้งเทอมนั่นแหละ

สำหรับตัวเรานะ เราอาจจะไม่ได้เกิดมาเป็นนักวิจารณ์มั้งเลยรู้สึกว่าวิชานี้มันน่าเบื่ออ่ะ (ส่วนตัวคือเป็นคนไม่ชอบอ่านพวกนวนิยาย) แต่วิชานี้ก็มีดีตรงที่แทบไม่ต้องอ่านหนังสือ (ทฤษฎีน้อย) แถมเราบอกแล้วว่าวิชานี้คือ"คนเรียนทำตัวเป็นนักวิจารณ์" นั่นแปลว่าสิ่งที่เขียนลงไปเป็น“ความคิดเห็น/มุมมองของใครของมัน” ทำให้วิชานี้ไม่มีผิดไม่มีถูกไงล่ะ (ยกเว้นว่าอ่านเรื่องแล้วเข้าใจผิดเองนะ 55555)

เราเรียนวิชานี้กับอ.อุไรพรรณในเทอม 2/2018 ก็เหมือนที่บอกไปในรีวิวก่อนๆแหละ อ.เป็นคนใจดี คือทุกคนสามารถเอางานเขียนไปให้อ.เขาอ่านได้แบบชิวๆเลยอ่ะ สงสัยตรงไหนก็ถามได้ แถมถ้าอยากเสนอมุมมอง/ความคิดเห็นใหม่ๆอาจารย์ก็ยินดีรับฟังนะ คือเป็นอาจารย์ที่ใจกว้างมากๆอ่ะ และจุดนี้แหละคือสิ่งที่ทำให้เรารักอาจารย์เขาเฟร่ออออ แต่ต้องบอกก่อนว่าอ.เป็นคนสอนค่อนข้างเร็วนะ เวลาง่วงๆนี่ตามแทบไม่ทัน55555
