Public Speaking (A)

The course title itself has shown what you guys will meet for the whole semester. There are 4 presentations in total (2 assignments, midterm, final). In short, you have to do the presentation all along the semester. For the theories, you will learn how to present a speech well which will concern on topic choosing, outlining, ordering, tips, etc. The only difference between midterm and final is all about types of speech (informative for midterm and persuarive for final).

I took this course with A. Nida and I would say that she is really thorough. If you are pretty sure that you won't put any efforts in your work, better to choose other lecterers. This is because she checks all assignments in details. But that doesn't mean she's not good. She does so since she really cares about students. She has tried to make her students understand the lessons. Therefore, if you get any mistakes in your work, she will ask you to correct it again and again till it's perfect. You know, it's good for yourself. As the exams mostly focus on the application, you will be in trouble if you don’t understand them clearly. Memorizing is not enough. For grading, everything depends on your performance. The performance in this case includes everything (hard working, correctness, professionalism, ...). I love her in the way that she never compares her students to one another. Only improvement is concerned:)

Oh..one more thing I shouldn't miss! When you deliver your presentations, you are required to take the videos and upload them on your Google Drive (which shares with her). I would say that this is very beneficial. In real life, it is sometimes unavoidable to see some cameras. Moreover, you can keep those videos as part of your portfolio!

Last thing I would say is that I love the way she lets students (as audiences) write comments for one another. I think it makes things non-questionable when seeing the marks. Also, you can bring those comments to be guidelines for the improvements.

เนื้อหาที่เรียนในวิชานี้ก็สมชื่อเลย 'Public Speaking' มีพรีเซ้นต์ทั้งหมด 4 ครั้ง (เป็นคะแนนเก็บ 2 ครั้ง, มิดเทอม, ไฟนอล) ง่ายๆว่าพรีทั้งเทอมนั่นแหละ ตัวทฤษฎีที่เรียนไม่มีไรมาก ก็ทั้งหมดที่เกี่ยวกับการพรีเซ้นต์ แบบการเลือกหัวข้อ, การวางโครง, การเรียบเรียง, เทคนิคการพรีให้มันดูดี บลาๆๆ มิดเทอมกับไฟนอลจะต่างกันแค่ตรงที่มิดเทอมเป็นแบบ informative (แจ้งให้ทราบ) แต่ไฟนอลจะเป็นแบบ persuasive (พูดโน้มน้าว)

สำหรับวิชานี้เราได้เรียนกับอ.นิฎา ก่อนอื่นต้องบอกก่อนเลยว่าอ.เป็นคนละเอียดนะจ๊ะ ถ้าใครคิดว่าจะทำงานส่งๆไปงั้นแนะนำให้ไปเรียนอ.ท่านอื่น เพราะเวลาส่งงาน ถ้ามันผิดอ.เขาจะให้แก้วนไปค่ะแก้จนกว่าจะผ่าน แต่!!!นั่นไม่ได้แปลว่าอ.เขาไม่ดีนะ คือสำหรับเรา เรามองว่าอ.เขาใส่ใจอ่ะ แบบพยายามทำให้เด็กเข้าใจเนื้อหาจริงๆอ่ะ ยังไงมิดเทอม+ไฟนอลก็ยังมีสอบแบบpaperอยู่ดี ซึ่งมันเน้นapply ถ้าเรียนไม่เข้าใจก็พังไปเลยค่ะวิชานี้ ฉะนั้นได้อ.แบบนี้แหละกำไร ส่วนคะแนนใครทำแบบไหนก้ได้แบบนั้น ตั้งใจ+พยายามก็คะแนนดี ไม่ตั้งใจก็นะตามสภาพ อ.เขาให้คะแนนตามศักยภาพแต่ละคน แบบดูว่าต้นเทอมกับปลายเทอมพัฒนามากน้อยแค่ไหน ไม่ได้เอาเด็กแต่ละคนมาเปรียบเทียบกันงี้

เพิ่มเติมเรื่องการพรีเซ้นต์ให้เสียหน่อย อ.เขาจะมีขาตั้งกล้องมาให้ทุกคาบที่มีพรีเซนต์ เวลาพรีให้เอาโทรศัพท์ไปอัดคลิปเพื่อส่งในgoogle drive หลายคนอาจคิดว่าเยอะ แต่จากประสบการณ์เราที่ได้ไปแข่งspeechอยู่บ้าง อยากบอกว่าม้นมีประโยชน์จริงๆนะเหวยยยย คือมันเป็นไปไม่ได้ที่เราจะออกงานละไม่มีคนยกกล้องมาถ่ายภาพ/วิดีโออ่ะถูกมะ พรีเซนต์แบบทั่วไปก็ฝึกมากี่วิชาละ นี่แหละโอกาสดีๆที่จะได้พัฒนาสกิลไปอีกระดับ

อีกข้อที่เราชอบก็คืออ.จะให้นศเขียนcommentsให้กันตลอด อารมณ์แบบตอนรู้คะแนนก็รู้ความคิดเห็นของผู้ฟังคนอื่นๆไปด้วยอ่ะ เราจะได้ไม่ต้องคิดว่าอ.กดคะแนนเราไหมไรงี้ แถมเอาcommentsเหล่านั้นมาปรับปรุงได้ด้วย (จะได้รู้ว่าอะไรดีจะได้ทำต่อไป อะไรไม่ดีก็ปรับแก้ซะ)
